This month, one of our clients, a professional staffing agency, was hit with a Cryptolocker, infecting their computers and encrypting all of the data on their hard drives. Thankfully, they are a managed DRaaS client of ours. After a few minutes on the phone with them, we were able to implement a Bare Metal Restore technique, wiping the infected servers and restoring information from their local Sky Data Vault device. With our full support and guidance, the client’s servers were up and running again within the predicted Recovery Time Objective (RTO), avoiding a hefty bitcoin ransom and costly downtime for the client. The client’s customers had no idea there had ever been a problem and business is back up as usual. Disaster recovery works!
